For this project, we were excited to design an advertising campaign for an art exhibition hosted at The University of Johannesburg's Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. To tie in with the art exhibition, we chose to base each advert on a different renowned and inspiring artist. Our magazine ad was based on Wassily Kandinsky whose artwork has a beautiful and surrealistic feel, this is showcased through various unique round shapes which we mimicked in our design. Our Facebook carousel ad was based on Van Gogh's Starry Night- a night of the unreal. Our title design was inspired by the waves found in his sky. We also added other elements from his piece such as the moon and the silhouette of the rock. Each post of the carousel ad is based on a different time of day- it continues from morning to night. FADA's goal is to host an art exhibition that is a surrealistic night of the unreal- we are confident that our designs convey, and help in achieving this.
